Andante in C-major, k. 315 Recording Engineers: Scott Harper, Peter Hatch Program Notes: Leroy W. Southers, Jr., D.M.A. Recorded at: Capilla de Nuestra Señora de Los Angeles de Llivia, Spain; August 30, 31, September 1, 1996 Graphic Design: Frank Martin Orchestra Concertmaster: Miklós Szenthelyi Publisher: PROdigital Records Reviews American Record Guide: "Jean Pierre Rampal has an excellent orchestra to conduct and knows the music thoroughly, but I cannot determine if the exciting orchestral voicing that Rampal achieves is owing to excellent conducting or owing more to wise recording choices by the producer and recording engineers; but I would like to give Rampal credit for highlighting the textures, rhythmic twists, and interesting articulations in the inner voices of the accompaniment... Arimany's flute playing is excellent... These lively and beautifully-paced readings are worth hearing." Classical Music Web: "Claudi Arimany, has a silvery light, tone and finds no technical difficulties in the music. His phrasing is elegant, and runs, scales and staccati exact; they fall easily on the ear as does his smooth legato... The recording is nicely balanced in a clear. airy and natural acoustic... The sleeve note, wholly in English. is informative without being pretentiously scholarly... I consider this a worthy addition to the recorded list of these works."
