Susanne Shapiro has an international reputation as a concert artist and inspiring teacher. Trained at the Royal Academy of Music, London, and the Julliard School of Music, she has been on the faculties of the University of Indiana at Bloomington and Pepperdine University in Los Angeles and currently teaches at the University of California, Riverside. New Records Magazine chose her recording of Haydn's Esterhazy sonatas as one of the best of 1971. Since then, she has recorded the eight harpsichord suites of Gottlieb Muffat for the Musical Heritage Society and is transcribing unpublished material by this important contemporary of Bach and Händel. Ms. Shapiro's performances typically include appearances with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl, the Mostly Mozart Festival at Lincoln Center in New York, the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., and recitals throughout the United States, Europe, and Israel.
