Already in its second season, the series, "Chamber Music in the Castle" is an innovative, slightly informal series of concerts in Glenoaks Canyon, Glendale, California. Organized by longtime Los Angeles classical musician, Peter Hatch, the series features a varied program of chamber music performances featuring well-loved classics, lesser-known masterpieces equally worthy of admiration, performed by some of the Southern California's most outstanding musicians.
Fresh from five years organizing and directing a wildly popular classical music festival in Villanueva de los Infantes, Spain, violist Peter Hatch brings his musical and organizational skills back to Glendale in the form of this daring and innovative series. He is joined by his two talented violinist daughters, Heidi Hatch and Alexis Hatch, who, in spite of their youth, have already enjoyed considerable popularity in Spain. Both young artists have been heard as soloists with orchestras throughout Spain, as well as in recitals and TV broadcasts on Spanish National Television. Heidi Hatch made her debut as soloist with orchestra at the age of 11 with the Glendale Symphony, provoking a standing ovation at the orchestra's 2004 Christmas Concert. She is presently studying at USC on a full scholarship at the Thornton School of Music. Her sister, Alexis, was a member of the Los Angeles Children's Chorus and has performed on her violin in many concerts in Spain, both as soloist with orchestra and chamber musician. She is featured on the Spanish National Television program, Jovenes Solistas (Young Soloists) in six different performances which, although produced in 2010, are still broadcast nationally throughtout Spain every weekend on Channel 2, RTVE. The "Chamber Music in the Castle" concerts feature many other of LA's most outstanding professional musicians as well as, from time to time, invited guests. The venue for the concerts is Glenoaks Canyon's iconic "Castle House" which has been a Glendale landmark since 1929. Light refreshments, including a glass of wine, will be served at the concerts. |
